      Although set in the early 1920s (well before talking movies) repeated references are made to Tarzan. While this would be fine if referring to Edgar Rice Burroughs' novels (the first of which was published before the War), it is plain that Jack and Jane are swapping banter about Johnny Weissmuller's portrayal in the talkies ("Me Tarzan, you Jane", which he never actually said in the films, or the Tarzan call he made famous) which did not start until 1932.
