- Ned Brown: She's not who we expected, Jim. She's a lovely girl of 18, and she's blind.
- James T. West: Well... what about the Madonna statue?
- Ned Brown: Seems a the logical place to look for a Madonna would be in a church.
- James T. West: The local church burned down years ago.
- Ned Brown: Which leaves the cemetery; might be on a headstone.
- James T. West: Why don't you try the cemetery? I'm gonna take a ride out to the Noland home. Mrs. Noland should know quite a bit about this old town.
- Sheriff Chayne: [walks towards Ned and Jim] I thought I heard a ruckus going on here.
- [to Ned]

- Ned Brown: Not at all. My name is Tobias.
