Enough, though, not to take it personal

Omar attends court and several people attempt to reach D'Angelo.

'All Prologue' is a classic episode with memorable character moments.

There is little I can say about the story without spoiling, but it's safe to say that it contains powerful drama, tragedy, and comedy whilst also advancing the police investigation plot.

McNulty and D'Angelo, who were heavily paralleled in season 1 are back in the spotlight again. There is a theme discussed by D'Angelo in a library scene that links cleverly to both characters. D'Angelo in particular has some definitive scenes and Lawrence Gilliard Jr is fantastic. A lot of what happens here is crucial to the overarching narrative of the show.

McNulty's last contribution to the Gant killing is presented in a wonderful courtroom scene where Omar is centre stage, along with Levy. I'm not sure how realistic it is, but regardless, it is a brilliantly written scene with Michael K Williams on top form.

The humour continues in the strip club scenes that, for me, have excellent character-driven, awkward moments. Prez always cracks me up in these, without even saying anything. There are also some very funny moments from Bunk and Herc during the investigation scenes.

All the scenes involving the Sabotkas are compelling from a plot perspective and the development of the characters. One exchange between Frank and Ziggy is especially good, not just the dialogue but the visuals are superb. Plus we have a great appearance by the character Proposition Joe with more fabulous dialogue for Robert F. Chew to deliver.

    Great episode

    Greetings from Lithuania.

In episode 5 girls which spoke in prison cell were speaking in Lithuanian language. Imagine my surprise when watching this show from Lithuania some 20 after its release i hear Lithuania language in a series that is considered by one of the greats. Not the best way for sure to hear it consider the circumstances, but still. And this episode was just as great with tragic ending. No spoilers but i liked it very much because of its commitment to be gritty and real. And Wire does deliver on those things like no other show. Only can guess were and how it will play next. Great episode.

Maurice 'Maury' Levy: You are amoral, are you not? You are feeding off the violence and the despair of the drug trade. You are stealing from those who themselves are stealing the lifeblood from our city. You are a parasite who leeches off...

      Omar: Just like you, man.

Maurice 'Maury' Levy: ...the culture of drugs. Excuse me? What?

Omar: I got the shotgun, you got the briefcase. It's all in the game though, right?
