Juvenile Jesse James

Young Christopher Pettiet joins the cast pf The Young Riders as the juvenile Jesse James. Unlike Wild Bill Hickok and and Buffalo Bill Cody, Jesse James never at any time had he connection with the Pony Express.

Pettiet witnesses the slaying of some kinfolk he's been staying with and later on there's another attempt on his life. But by that time he's now part of Anthony Zerbe's group and they look out for him.

e also hear about Jesse's big brother Frank already doing some frontier hellraising. Sets up a sense anticipation when he makes an appearance on The Young Riders.

Trivia
Christopher Pettiet died young (at 24 in 2000) of a drug overdose. Jesse James, whom Pettiet played in Young Riders, died young (at 34 in 1882) of a gunshot.
