Title When Originally Aired = Pink Mist

As I recall, the end of this episode was the first time I ever heard Anna Nalick's song ''Breathe (2 AM)'' - That doesn't reveal any of the plot, so I guess I won't mark that as a spoiler. :-)

    I'm not crying, you're....

Anna Naliks "Breath (2 am)", one of the three most effective uses of a song in episodic television. One aired shortly after this episode, the finale of Six Feat Under with, the similarly named, Sia's "Breath Me". The other, Israel Kamakawiwo'ole's "Over the Rainbow", Dr. Greens death episode on ER.

Great episode, with a tear inducing use of music. Props to Alexandra Patsavas for the Musical Production.

    Great!!!

Omg!!! I Totally disagree with the previous comment.I thought this episode was wonderful. I love this show and haven't missed an episode Yet!! Hmmmmmmmmm since I have to write 10 lines for this to post I would just like to say that if you have never watched this show go buy the first season on DVD. After one or two episodes if you aren't hooked well....You should be lol!!! I am in my last year of nursing school and Grey's anatomy always ties into our Monday morning lectures one way or another. The one's who didn't watch it in the beginning I got them hooked during our "study" sessions. :-) I have already pre-ordered the 2nd season on DVD. I can't wait to get it so I can watch it over again.

Almost a parody of a disaster movie.

This is a silly, cringe-worthy episode with at least three dozen eye-rolling moments. If the premise of a live bomb-in-a-body isn't bad enough, the writers take the customary stilted dialog to a whole new level in their efforts to milk every last drop of cheesy emotion from the characters. People simply don't talk or act this way in real life. It's so painful to watch, you wonder how the actors didn't burst laughing when reading some of their lines. Everything about this episode is so melodramatic, so cliché, it feels like the viewer is being pranked -- as if the script was conjured up by writers from The Onion. To make matters worse, it's as if the story takes place in some alternate reality because we never hear about it again once the ending credits roll.

    Perfection keeps on going

Part two of this masterpiece is just as good as part one.

The acting is so incredibly awesome, by all of the usual cast, and the guest actors also.

The music is perfect, the emotions, the tiny bits of humor in all the misery.

It is so complete, and not cheesy and overdone.

Perhaps the best two episodes of the entire show....

I still cry every time I see it, even though I have seen it 10+ times

      Dr. Meredith Grey: Hey.

Dr. Derek Shepherd: Hey. You almost died today.

Dr. Meredith Grey: Yeah, I almost died today.

[Derek is at a loss for words and starts heading to the door]

Dr. Meredith Grey: I can't, I can't remember our last kiss. All I could think about was, "I'm going to die today and I can't remember our last kiss," which is pathetic. But the last time we were together and happy, I... want to be able remember that, and I can't Derek. I can't remember.

Dr. Derek Shepherd: I'm glad you didn't die today.

      [Starts to leave but stops]

Dr. Derek Shepherd: It was a Thursday morning, you were wearing that ratty little "Dartmouth" T-shirt you look so good in, the one with the hole in the back of the neck. You'd just washed your hair and you smelled like some kind of... flower. I was running late for surgery. You said you were going to see me later, and you leaned to me, you put your hand on my chest and you kissed me. Soft. It was quick. Kind of like a habit. You know, like we'd do it everyday for the rest of our lives. And you went back to reading the newspaper and I went to work. That was the last time we kissed.

      [Derek starts to leave]

Dr. Meredith Grey: Lavender. My hair smelled like lavender... from my conditioner.

      Dr. Derek Shepherd: Lavender. Huh.

      [Smiles then leaves]
