    Bowling Ball Story

Fred had promised to take Wilma out on the night he has a big bowling tournament.

A typical episode of Fred lying to Wilma, amusing but not one of the best. It begins with Betty giving Wilma a quiz about how well she knows her husband. It turns out Fred is inconsiderate, immature and unreliable according to the quiz.

Wilma has to remind Fred that this is the 8th anniversary of their engagement. He decides he can take Wilma to a drive in movie and he can sneak out to the bowling alley when getting candy. A pop culture reference has Stoney Gherkins (Tony Curtis) and Janet Granite (Janet Leigh) being the stars of the movie. Funny scenes of him running back and forth and getting his finger caught in the car door. Then a bowling ball gets stuck on his swollen finger.

    • Trivia
This is the only time the Flintstone's car is shown with doors.
    • Goofs
Wilma tells Betty that it is eight years since Fred proposed to her but in season one they celebrated their tenth wedding anniversary and earlier in season two their fifteenth. It's no wonder Fred was confused.
    • Quotes

Fred Flintstone: If I don't take Wilma to the movies tonight, she's going home to live with her mother.

Barney Rubble: [while lifting weights] Well... 6, 7, 8... that's one way to keep her mother... 10, 11, 12... from coming to live with you.

Fred Flintstone: Barney, are you going to help me or not?

Barney Rubble: Uh, sure, Fred, sure. Now tell me your problem.

Fred Flintstone: I already told you!

Barney Rubble: Yes, sir, it's just like Rock Whammy says, a fat man is a grouchy man.

Fred Flintstone: WHO'S GROUCHY? I'M PERFECTLY CALM!
