    The new kid

    Enter the bully!

Although in this case the "bully" isn't just a clear cut villain. He is angry because his little sister was injured in the last attack and he wants somebody to blame. However, after beating up on Shinji he is later rescued by him, and now feels Confusion, guilt and perhaps compassion for Shinji.

The fact that this character gets such great development within one episode shows how this show is so keenly focused on the human element within the story. The battling robots are merely a gorgeous backdrop To the more interesting and intense character arcs playing out in the series.

    new characters

The two new characters, make shinji more hard. But I think they could be friends someday, I'm looking forward to it.
