    The movie of ladders

And lots of them. Project Moonbase's main character is a woman who has become the darling of the space race and is depended upon to complete a critical mission. We find out however that she is not ready for primetime as she whines at her commander. Some continuous laughs are had as the riffs in the movie just keep coming. Only missing bigger laughs to get a higher rating.

The host segments are good, especially when we are introduced to a new do-it-all substance: spacom!

    An early episode

This ended up having one of my favorite lines in the entire series, but it still wasn't a great episode. TV's Frank is just so much better than Dr. Erhardt. I can't believe that's Josh Weinstein as him! Even more insane, I can't believe this show is coming back on some new format soon! Anyway, the joke is said by Crow when a person says, "The President thinks". He responds by saying, "The president thinks? That's something new". One notable part is where Joel holds up cue cards in the theater and even throws in written sound effects as well.

It's kind of sad to watch the show before the stingers were created. It may not be much, but it's a good touch. The out of theater sequences were pretty good, if rather nonsensical. It was cool to see new brief episodes of some show or something shown before the movie. I guess it would have been better to have two different shorts, but it still works well. ***

    • Trivia
During the end credits of this episode, it says "This episode is dedicated to the memory of Alan Hale, Jr." Alan Hale, Jr. died of cancer on January 2, 1990. Four days before this episode originally aired (January 6, 1990).
    • Goofs
When the Radar Men from the Moon (1952) segment is starting, Joel comments about it having Clayton Moore before his Lone Ranger days. Moore starred in The Lone Ranger (1949) starting in 1949, while Radar Men came out in 1952. Moore was replaced for the third season but returned for the fourth season. So Joel should have said it was before he returned to being the Lone Ranger, instead of it being before he was the Lone Ranger.
