When Tracy Atwood goes back to the apartment where the couple was killed, the scenes are made the same way as in Manhunter. She also records her thoughts on a tape recorder, just as Will Graham does in Manhunter, trying to think like the killer. Later, there is a scene when a jogger is running into her direction, that could be the killer. A very similar scene exists in "Manhunter".
