    ANOTHER GREAT COSTUME EPISODE.

This one comes with all the frills, all about someone sending secret love letters to Mrs. Howell? Of course, it could only be Mr. Howell, right? Ya think? Maybe?

To be sure for sure, the professor actually invents a lie detector machine? And it works! The cocoanut headgear and the boat's horn is a blast. This all leads to a very elaborate dream sequence of CINDERELLA, starring Mrs. Howell. Super stuff and Mr. And Mrs. Howell make a dynamic fairy tale team, and in full costume.

Great gag sequence finds the Skipper playing Mrs. Howell's mean, old step mother. And don't forget the proverbial glass slipper? One for the sitcom books. And I agree with the last rewiewer, the lie detector machine has to be the most original of all inventions.

Great scene when the skipper puckers up to kiss Ginger? Behind the scenes, Alan Hale and Dawn Wells (Mary Ann) were neighbors and best of friends.

I agree with the notes; a RARE episode where Gilligan and the Skipper do NOT have any dialogue together.

Directed by David Ornick McDearmon, who handled two episodes, known for his work on PETER GUNN.

The best of Season 3, remastered color dvd box set. The restored color for both tv prints and dvd is beautiful, comparable to the Batman tv series.

    • Trivia
The only episode in which Bob Denver (Gilligan) and Alan Hale (Skipper) do not appear together on screen, nor do they exchange any dialogue.
    • Goofs
As Gilligan is using the lie detector, he says 'I like spinach' and the lie detector indicates he is lying. However, in Pass the Vegetables, Please (1966) he loves spinach. (Possibly after having to eat all of that soap at the end of "Pass the Vegetables, Please" got him to hate the thought of eating spinach again).

Ginger Grant: Mary Ann, I'm telling you for the last time, the Skipper's mine!

Mary Ann Summers: That's what you think. I thought he was cute for quite a while. I've just been too shy to say how I feel.

Ginger Grant: Well, you're too late. When I go after a man, I go after him.

Mary Ann Summers: Well, that doesn't mean you're going to get him.

Ginger Grant: Are you kidding? Listen, you little farm girl, if you know what's good for you, you stay away from my man!

Mary Ann Summers: Your man? Ha! You think every man looks at you just because you wiggle your hips like a pair of windshield wipers?

Ginger Grant: Oh! One more crack like that, I'll add some black and blue to your brown eyes!

Mary Ann Summers: If you hit me, it'll be the most work you've done since you've been on the island!
