    nearly lost but not forgotten

It had been a long time since I saw this fine show. That is until I discovered that 16 mm prints had been found. A half of a million dollars later, eight volumes have been restored to their former self.Volumes nine through 15 will be ready any day now. Thanks to the fine people of trucker flicks.com for their hard work, you to can experience this fine show again. It was good to see Robert D. Raiford, the former voice of FACE THE NATION from many years ago. Charlotte natives will remember him from the John Boy and Billy show on radio. A special treat in this episode was seeing the late Jim Patterson. His was the first voice ever heard on WBTV Channel 3 in Charlotte N.C. Way back in the 40's. Cool show and this is the best episode of the lot.

Movin' On of the 70s was a truck driver show

The show was based on the premise of Sonny Pruitt, Independent truck owner and driver and his swamper, Will Chandler, a law educated driver partner.

They long haul loads around the country, helping those in need along the way.

Sonny controls the loads and Will handles the paperwork end, such as the legal log books as well as any legal problems they may run into during their travels.

I have the complete set of Truckerflicks.com version. However, the quality is not that good on most. Also, these are not made from the original prints, as others have stated, but instead are made from recorded copies taken from airing. This is evident by the logo in the corner from the TV station airing and the voice over announcing upcoming programs in the ending credits. Additionally, at least one has text that pops up along the bottom to stop calling (seems the station was running a contest during the show). The coloring is poor, almost washed out during most of the episodes.

There is a 20 episode collection available from another site that has better quality but you don't get all the episodes. The episode "Ammo" is not right in the set. It stops playing and skips back to the menu at the same spot every time losing about the last 10-15 minutes of the show. The color and clarity is much better in this collection, though.

Also, if memory serves, the theme song wording changed from the first to the second verse of the song with the change from season one to season 2. The words, "living like a gypsy, always on the go..." changed to "a good hot cup of coffee is waiting up ahead..." yet all collections I have obtained contain only the second verse.

Both companies distributing this have only the later version, though. It seems as if they picked one opening sequence and just use that and then use the show from the commercial break after the opening credits on.

It is a shame that collectors have gotten the original, higher quality copies of this program before they could be used to produce high quality product for others to purchase.
