- Special Agent Leroy Jethro Gibbs: Hey, Boss, it's '96, and you just retired.
- [takes a bite of his steak]
- Special Agent Leroy Jethro Gibbs: Damn, this is good. I owe you. Had to be a hijacking, huh? They never change security until it's too late.
- [Franks pauses, and lights a cigarette]
- NIS Agent Mike Franks: Al-Qaeda hijacked 4 airliners. Two hit the World Trade Center, one the Pentagon. Fourth was to take out the White House. Some gutsy passengers fought 'em, they went down in Pennsylvania. Twin Towers are gone. Pentagon's fixed. Three thousand-some dead, nearly as many wounded.
- [Gibbs gets up, runs to the trash can, and vomits]
- Nurse Maria Baliad: Sir, are you all right?
- NIS Agent Mike Franks: He's okay. Got some bad news.
- Nurse Maria Baliad: You can't smoke in here.
- NIS Agent Mike Franks: I forgot I was in a hospital.
- Nurse Maria Baliad: It's against the law to smoke in any public building.
- NIS Agent Mike Franks: You're kidding! Another good reason to live in Mexico.
