    Rhyming slang characters

    Gert and Edie is rhyming slang for greedy, which is why these two are, shall we say, well nourished; whilst Sid and Lily is rhyming slang for silly, which is why those two are portrayed as not very smart, often gullible, and dare we say 'thick'.... They don't write them like this anymore, sadly.....
