    Morticians galore!

Leo's holiday is interrupted when a body turns up, with the same M.O. as a case he investigated previously. Harry is asked to look at the suspicious death of a former friend.

This is definitely the standout story from Series six, it's a bit of a low brow run, this finale is much more dramatic, and dare I say, interesting.

Battle of the pathologists, in addition to the regulars, we have Claire Holman, who of course played mortician Laura in Morse and Lewis, we also have Esther Hall, who played mortician Felix Gibson in Waking the Dead.

A good story for Leo, his family added a different dimension for him, it also highlighted he's a man that puts family before work.

Loved Tim Healey in this, I forget how good an actor he is, so much charisma, his scenes with Burton were terrific, he stands out. A subtle performance from Jack Shepherd, more to come I'm sure.

    Children, children...!

Everything up to standard here. Just a comment on Cassie's behaviour: when I was her age, I was seriously into horror literature. I was reading Edgar Allan Poe, Sheridan Le Fanu and the rest of the Gothic crew (Arthur Conan Doyle wasn't really horror, was he? :-~ ) At thirteen I read Dracula and couldn't sleep for three nights afterwards. Since then, I've come to the conclusion that it's like fairground rides. I have realised that many of my own physical fears stem from my parents' failure to expose me to sensations when young: being on a roller coaster, being safely near a cliff edge, landing safely from a fall (actually, I worked that one out for myself, but my mother was appalled and I was made to feel unhappy that I'd tried.)... all that sort of stuff. Children need to be exposed to fear (in a safe, controlled environment... or maybe not!), otherwise they won't know how to deal with it when they (undoubtedly will at some time) experience it in reality. Go, Cassie!

    Lots of Tight Lips

A man is murdered and it seems like a copycat. The second victim was a policeman in training who had a relationship with a young woman. Harry is getting involved with the widow of an old friend who asked him to do the PM. There are bodies appearing all over the place and marriages are falling apart.
