    Going Nowhere

I'm afraid this one scraped the bottom. Homer, who can't pass up a bargain, is given the opportunity to get a free ticket to the Super Bowl. He just has to round up enough men to fill a bus. There is nothing funny about his efforts or about what happens next. When they all get to the game, they can't get in because their tickets are counterfeit and printed on cracker (that is pretty funny). But then it gets tiresome. Too many celebrity appearance. I think this was a throwaway. Home is just plain mean and drunk most of the time. As a matter of fact, I know it's a significant part of the show, but the glorification of drinking goes on and on and on.

    • Trivia
Moe and Homer cover their mouths to hide lip movement because, obviously, when this episode was produced, they had no idea who would be playing in the Super Bowl, but could dub in the team names after the NFC and AFC championship games. The additional joke of hiding their mouths when naming the president and his wife is due to the national crisis when Bill Clinton was impeached by the House of Representatives in 1998 for perjury and obstruction of justice. The events leading to his impeachment first made news in January 1998 and proceeded throughout the year when this episode was in production.
    • Quotes

Vincent Price: Good afternoon gentlemen, I've been waiting for you!

      [laughs maniacally]

John Madden: [to Summarall, about Price being alive] Now that just doesn't make a lick of sense!

Pat Summerall: I know, I know, just get on the bus.

    • Alternate versions
The version uploaded to Disney+ modifies the Catholic Church commercial. It no longer says, "The Catholic Church. We've made a few changes." It removes "Catholic" and simply says, "The Church. We've made a few changes."
