    Return of the Robot maker

Dr. Chester Dolenz replaces Oscar Goldman with a new and improved robot in an attempt to steal the formula for a new energy source. The impostor sends Steve Austin on a suicide mission to brave the defenses of the new Brahmin Institute. Austin decides to take along some new gadgets invented by fellow OSI agent and part time inventor Barney Barnes.

The robot maker returns with a new scheme and a robot - and it makes for an enjoyable escapade with Austin leaping over fences, dodging land mines and bending gun nozzles. This is my favourite episode featuring the robot maker so far. Richard Anderson acts really well as the robot and Oscar himself.

    Return of doctor Chester Dolenz

Another excellent and outstanding episode of SMDM .Dr. Chester Dolenz ,the robot maker is back to exact his revenge. This time he creates a robotic duplicate of Oscar Goldman. This android seems to be perfect obviously better than the first one("Day of the robot") Dolenz kidnaps the real Oscar Goldman and replaces him with the fake Oscar. The plan they have is really good.Oscar robot orders Steve Austin to test a high-security system at an important establishment. This one defeated Steve and Dolenz orders the android to steal the formula for a new energy source.Dolenz seems to have gotten rid of Steve Austin but hes not dead. Hes still alive because of his bullet proof vest. This episode contains full action and we see Steve the bionic man using his bionics to save his life and at the end he confronts Dolenz and the robot to save Oscar. A good battle occurs between Steve and the robot. One more time Steve matches a powerful robot as strong as he is.The odd melody that is played when the robot appears calls my attention and at the beginning we see the faceless robot like the first robot from the first season and we could get frightened one more time. The final is also good and frightening (watching the head of the robot on the ground)Excellent episode from the 70s.

    Android Maker

Dr. Chester Dolenz(Henry Jones) brilliant but rogue robot(android!) maker returns for the third time, still trying to perfect his creations, and now has his sights set on replacing OSI chief Oscar Goldman(Richard Anderson) whom he has kidnapped right out of his office by a window cleaning crew(!) and replaced with his mechanical double in hopes of achieving his dreams of power and riches. Only Steve Austin(Lee Majors) the bionic man can stop him, and he thinks he has the perfect way of finally disposing of him for good...(sure). Weak episode with an especially preposterous way of kidnapping Oscar seems lifted right out of the "Batman" TV series! Forget it.

    • Trivia
The robot sound effect is recycled from How to Frame a Figg (1971).
    • Goofs
Obvious body doubles used for Oscar Goldman near the end of the episode. First, seen from behind in the trailer when Oscar meets his impostor robot. Next, when both Oscars jump out of the trailer and stand beside one another. Finally, the majority of the fight between Steve and the robot uses a body double for Richard Anderson.

Barney Barnes: Here it is: la pièce de résistance. A pinnacle of my achievements.

[pulls out a piece of cloth, straightens it]

Col. Steve Austin: A bulletproof tablecloth?

Barney Barnes: No, no, no, no, a bulletproof vest! Look, forget the material just look: thin as a waver, light as a feather. This won't restrict your movements like a regular bulletproof vest. But it'll stop an eigh millimeter shell and give you ten cents change.
