    Family Revelations

Similar to "Lineage's" previous episode "Redux," this episode considers family relationships in the main characters' lives.

First, a woman named Rachel Dunleavy arrives in town claiming that Clark is her son. Clearly disillusioned, Lionel is actually helpful to the Kents in proving her crazy and avoiding the potentially dooming DNA test that would have ensued had authorities believed Rachel's story. It is also revealed that Lionel helped the Kents work around the adoption documents to take in Clark- revealing that Lionel is much closer to understanding that there are intriguing mysteries behind Clark's past than anyone would feel comfortable with.

In addition, Lana contacts the man she saw in a photo album with her mother, named Henry Small, to try and inquest whether or not he is her real father.

    This is a fabulous episode.

    Searching the Origins

The disturbed Rachel Dunleavy (Blair Brown) arrives in Smallvile claiming that Clark Kent is her biological son with Lionel Luthor, therefore brother of Lex Luthor. She asks for a DNA examination, jeopardizing the Kent. Meanwhile, Lana Lang visits Henry Small (Patrick Cassidy) trying to find whether he is her biological father.

"Lineage" is another great episode of Smallville, showing a search of the origins of Clark Kent and Lana Lang. In a certain moment, the situation seems to be in a check-mate for the Kent family, but in the end the plot resolves. My vote is nine.

Title (Brazil): "Em Busca das Origens" ("Searching the Origins")

    This episode is Half-good

I am a huge superman fan. While i really don't like Smallville, there are a least some episodes that do explore some aspects of the mythos in really creative and new ways. This is one of those episodes. The reason why I'm say that this is only a Half-good episode is because it introduces ideas that sadly are ruined later on in the show.

The idea of Lex Luthor and Clark meeting for the first time when they were really little kids but didn't know it, is still a interesting idea. Plus i like how it was Luthor's dad who helped faked the adoption papers, while extorting Johnathan Kent to convince the Ross brothers to sell their land to him, or he tell the world about Clark. Also, i like the idea of Luthor's father being a cheating scumbag who ruined the lives of the people who were ultimately trying to help his sick wife, and then covering it up like it never happened. I actually do like those ideas. Sadly, it wouldn't last, all all the interesting ideas introduced in this episode were tossed out the window.

The axe can't be broken to pieces like a vase. And that refers to every episode, where Clark is hit with something.
