Carter takes in the family pet, Rags.

In this episode the Mayor is starting his re-election campaign with a speech at the zoo. Afterwards a stroller occupied by a baby rolls down a hill toward the sea lion exhibit. Mike chases after the stroller only to fall into the exhibit. The stroller was stopped by a man that wants no credit for his action. When people arrive, they believe that Mike is the one that saved the baby and he is willing to take the credit.

In another story, Carter has brought the family dog, Rags, of nineteen years, to live out his remaining days at his apartment. But we learn that the dog would have been happy just be be put down. In fact the dog is suicidal.

As we start season three, there seems to be a more comfortable feeling dealing with the cast. It is still quite a large cast, and at times, it is difficult to get all the actors featured each week but the writers are doing their best. Of all the episodes of the series, this show seems to be the one most people remember from the original airing. One can only think it was for the lovable dog story or the special guest cameos because it was not from the superb content of the story. This was a memorable episode but nothing that stands out as remarkable.
