Just did not have the flare that others episode have shown.

There are two stories going on in this episode, the first involves Stacey wanting to move out of her families house in Brooklyn where the family has a tight bond. When Mike accompanies Stacey to tell her parents, the grandmother thinks that Mike is the cause of the move and places a curse on him. Mike does not think too much about the curse until things start going wrong around every turn.

The second involves the Mayor apparently losing his hearing. He is only catching a phrase or two in every conversation which can lead to some embarrassing moments. Mayor Winston starts feeling sorry for himself and laments about getting older.

There really isn't anything new in the story of the curse that has not been played out hundreds of times in other sitcoms. So there was nothing of any value to that story. The only value of the episode was the humorous lines given to Barry Bostwick when the Mayor is having hearing problems. Even though the acting was fine the show did not possess the flare that other episode have shown. Just an average watch for the series.
