After the nice set-up from part one, Part two was a dud.

In this second part episode, we knew from the last show that the newspaper received a photo of the Mayor looking as though he was paying a known prostitute. But we found out that the night the Mayor was suppose to be with the prostitute, he was with Mike's mother. Mike wants to keep his mother safe and refuses to tell the press the alibi for the Mayor.

As for Paul situation with accidentally being shot by the security guard, that story fell apart. When the security guard's case went to TV and was going to be heard on "The People's Court" we all knew things were going to take a poor turn. Even though the situation had a humorous side, it was so unrealistic that it took away from the entire show.

Was hoping for more in this second part but felt disappointed. The set-up from the previous show had us hungry for anticipation but the viewer was given only gruel. When looking back at this episode one can only think what might-have-been. It was part disappointing and part fairy tale. Not the way it should have ended.

Nice main plot ruined by ridiculous side plots

It is never a good thing when a sitcom takes things too far regarding realism. Yes, these shows don't have to be completely realistic, and they never are, but when they go too far, desperately trying to sell ridiculous as funny, the results are never good and this episode is just another proof for that.

While the main plot, involving Mike's mom and the mayor and the way Mike tries to deal with that is fine, both funny and emotional, the side plots, both Paul being sued and Carter trying to go on a holiday, are pretty bad, with Paul's story being absolutely terrible. It is completely unrealistic and annoying.

Another thing that has been bothering me for quite a while is that the show has too many unlikable characters. Aside from Mike and the mayor pretty much every other main character is unlikable. It is only the degree that varies from episode to episode, but pretty much all of them are annoying. Paul is possibly the best of the worst, but just because his character is portrayed as being really stupid, so you are inclined to give him a pass because of that. James is possibly tolerable most of the time, but all of the others are much more annoying than funny most of the time.
