Edit

Continuity

General Hammond tells Colonel Simmons that he has a red phone in his office that only calls one person (the President). However, he can be seen using the red phone for other types of calls, including personal calls, in previous episodes.

Revealing mistakes

At 21 minutes, the camera slowly pans right to left over two men in a van. They are using a reel-to-reel tape recorder. Also, both men have a (CRT) visual monitor. However, as the pan begins ambient light is reflected off of the first monitor shown; it is clearly a static photo or paper/thin cardboard image placed in the front of the screen of the monitor, absolutely not a live image.
At 28 minutes, Orlin and Major Carter are eating and talking at her dinner table in her home. At Orlin's place setting, he has an aluminum ice cream scoop next to him; however, all they have to eat is a long baguette.
Sean Patrick Flannery's hairpiece is obvious throughout the episode.

If Orlen is an Ascended being, he really shouldn't have to wear a toupee.

Miscellaneous

General Hammond wears two badges - Command Pilot's Wings and Master Space and Missile (later changed to Master Space Operations badge). The Wings should always be above any other badges. In this episode they are reversed.
When talking with Carter at the SGC, O'Neill excuses himself to go to the restroom. The door leading into the restroom not only opens outward, it uses a rounded doorknob. Both are violations of the Americans with Disabilities Act, as well local and state fire ordinances.

Although the Department of Defense isn't subject to certain aspects of that act, it is required to abide by local and state fire codes.
Most of Orlin's line "Actually, I just wanted you to let me try again" is heard at increased speed, perhaps indicating a film defect.

Plot holes

There are dozens of ways in which Orlin could have explained what happened to the weapon, in manners that would have been acceptable to Stargate Command. For reasons not explained, neither he nor Carter, try to present any of them.
Orlin tells Samantha "that was easy" in regards to control of the weather for Ascended beings. As shown at the end of the episode, a single lightning strike was enough to destroy the weapon that the episode revolves around. So it makes little sense that the only action Orlin took to try and ensure the weapon was not used again was a weak half-measure in removing the power source.
