An interesting concept that is far too encompassing to be started and stopped in one episode. Decent acting and special effects. Plot resolution is too neat.

    A New Enemy

The SGC is surprised by the activation of the Stargate and a bald boy warns that Earth is in danger. He asks to talk only to Jack, since his invisible Mother tells that he is reliable. He adopts Jack's son name, Charlie, and tells that he is from Reetalia where the inhabitants Reetou hate the Goual'd and want to defeat them. A group of rebels believes that if they destroy the earthlings, the Goual'd would lose probable hosts. Meanwhile, Dr. Fraiser discovers that Charlie is genetically engineered and he will die soon. The SGC summons the Tok'ra and they bring a weapon that can detect and destroy the Reetou. When they discover invisible Reetou rebels in the SGC, the battle begins.

"Show and Tell" is an episode of Stargate SG-1 where a new enemy is shown. However the story is weak and despite of the action, is boring. In addition, Charlie is a non-charismatic character. My vote is six.

    How do you clean up...

    Invisible Reetu guts?

Well that is a problem for after the episode.

As far as what a Reetu (Reatu? Reatuw?) is, they don't get into it that much even in the episode. They just needed a bogeyman for this episode and they certainly created a good one, these guys could either be bad guys or a good guys.

What I liked about this episode is that it had the kid from the X-Files who could read minds, Jeff Gulka. I have seen him in a few things, he's actually pretty good. I think he spends more time playing in a heavy metal band these days than acting.

I thought the Reetu were pretty much done a disservice, not within this episode, but afterward. And like Star Trek and the X-Files, Stargate was not a show that liked to throw away plot points that could be used later.

Which was why as I was watching the show initially, I was disappointed that we never got to see more or hear more about whatever these things are.

After Jacob Carter comes back to earth with a gizmo that gives SG-1 the ability to actually see these critters, we get to see that there are indeed a whole lot of them. Watch for that... there are frolicking Reetus, jumping, playing and tussling Reetus... but if you are not paying attention you will definitely miss it.

Peter DeLuise: the soldier at the gunnery station looking at the boy coming through the Stargate.
    • Goofs
About 6 minutes, the little boy insists on speaking with Colonel O'Neill alone. General Hammond orders the room cleared, except for Jack and the boy. However, a sentry stands guard by the wall in the room with them the entire time they speak, easily within hearing range.
    • Quotes

Captain Samantha Carter: Even though we can't see them, these Reetou can definitely see us.

Teal'c: Which puts us at a great strategic disadvantage. I understand why the Goa'uld want to eliminate them.

      Colonel Jack O'Neill: They're Goa'uld, Teal'c. That's their job.
