    Great two-part episode

I think this is the best end-of-season Stargate episode so far. It has elements from Star Trek: TNG (think Star Trek: First Contact without the time travel) and there are also scenes in the submarine that reminded me of Aliens. Fortunately, Teal'c and O'Neill were not on a nuclear submarine, so they didn't have to worry about damaging the cooling system!

The scene when Thor visits the SGC is really great too, and the conclusion of the episode sets up season 4 nicely. Hopefully, there will be more stories with the Asgard now, and fewer with the Gou'ald. I'm a bit bored with them now!

    Clean up

Decent episode clearing up the final loose end from the season three ender. Storyline was well developed and had an interesting resolution. Good cast chemistry.

The Conclusion of the War with the Replicators

A Russian submarine is attacked by one replicator that has survived to the destruction of the Bilskimir. The crew is killed and the US Government hides the truth from the Russians. Meanwhile Thor arrives at the SGC seeking from help in the war with the replicators. Sam travel with Thor to help Asgard while Jack, Daniel and Teal'c go on board of the submarine. However they are attacked and need to flee. Will the replicators be defeated by the SG-1, Thor and the Asgard spaceships?

"Small Victories" is the conclusion of the war with the replicators. The great participation of the SG-1 will certainly show Thor that earthlings deserve more participation of their advanced technology. My vote is eight.

    Title (Brazil): "Small Victories"

Samantha is getting hotter by the episode!

Damn right she is! Great episode, and a great conclusion for the new enemy introduced to us. Did I say that Carter is hotter and hotter,hmmm... maybe it is just me,but definetly a great gal here.

    Edit
    • Trivia
The Russian submariner, before opening the torpedo tube, answers his comrade's question: "What do you think is in there?" He actually says (in Russian): "Maybe it's a bug from previous episode!"
    • Goofs
None of the team members appear even slightly fazed by firing a 12 gauge shotgun in a submarine's corridors. A 12 gauge has an extremely loud report. If a person were to fire even a single shot in a tight, confined space such as that without hearing protection it would cause disorientation, painful ringing in the ears and likely permanent damage to the eardrum after firing multiple rounds. The SG team members should therefore have been wearing hearing protection.
    • Quotes

Thor: Your projectile weapons proved effective in fatally damaging the Replicators.

      Colonel Jack O'Neill: Some.

Thor: Your technology and strategy for destroying the Bilskirnir was successful.

Colonel Jack O'Neill: Yeah, but you guys...

Thor: The Asgard have tried to stop them. You have demonstrated their weakness may be found from a less sophisticated approach. We are no longer capable of such thinking.

Dr. Daniel Jackson: Wait a minute. You're actually saying that you need someone dumber than you are?

Colonel Jack O'Neill: You may have come to the right place.

Major General George Hammond: Thor, with all due respect to your situation we need SG-1 here.

Major Samantha Carter: I could go, sir...

Colonel Jack O'Neill: I don't know, Carter. You may not be dumb enough.

    • Crazy credits
This episode features different credits than previous seasons. Instead of showing the characters from different scenes it shows a close-up view of an Egyptian statue of Ra then proceeds to zoom out showing the statue in its entirety.
