    Escaped Cons

Four convicts escape and use prison guard Sgt. Mack as a hostage.

A pretty good episode, starts with a bang but ends with a whimper. Some good guest stars. Cliff Gorman ( he was Emory in The Boys In The Band) plays Mack. When the cons let him go, he seeks to catch them himself. Stone and Robbins tell him to back off. Richard Lynch (he was another nasty con in Scarecrow 1973) is the leader of the escapees. Davey Davison plays Mack's wife, she was a potential murder victim of psycho Victor Buono in The Strangler (1964).

    • Trivia
Just one year after this episode Herbert Jefferson Jr, and Richard Lynch would reunite with Richard Hatch for the first and only season of the original "Battlestar Galactica".
    • Goofs
There are several stock scenes used while Malden and Hatch are driving. At 25:48, they are driving a car that has an emblem medallion on the front grill. When they park a minute later, the car has no grill medallion.

At 34:41, they are shown driving, but it's actually the vehicle used in the first season with Malden and Douglas with their standard 191 CYW license plate.

Also, at 36:38, after picking up Sgt. Mack (Cliff Gormam) they are shown driving down a hill with a cable car passing in front of them. You can clearly see there are only two people in the car. A moment later, you can see the third person, Sgt. Mack, in the car.

No doubt, there are other stock scenes used in the episode as well.

Sergeant Earl Eddie Mack, California Dept. of Corrections: They broke the trust.

      Susan Mack: What?

Sergeant Earl Eddie Mack, California Dept. of Corrections: It's unwritten, Susan, but it's there just the same. They don't turn on me, I don't turn on them. It's how we live together. Well, they broke it. After all I did for 'em.
