Tom is appointed to lead a cattle drive when the trail boss is shot by a duplicitous cowboy called Blacky Rude. Well before that, Blacky pays his attention on the boss' daughter, Gale Jardin' in the hope that she will tell him where the drive's secret destination is so he can pass that information to his fellow rustlers, who can then set up an ambush.

The boss' daughter eventually reveals the drive's secret destination to Blacky as she has a crush on him, unaware that he's actually one of the outlaw gang. Only Brewster knows he's no good and that he didn't shoot the trail boss in self defence- it was murder and he can prove it.

Trust Ray Danton to play a slime ball, who puts his oily charms on the beautiful Kathleen Case ( Cathy Case in the credits) and has her dancing to his tune before he turns on her. There's a neat stunt with horses going off the end of a bridge and a lengthy river fight ensues. It's a lively enough episode with sufficent plot twists.
