Bruno 'Ugly' Mannheim
- Bruno Mannheim: [about the new weapons] What's your boss want in return?
- Kanto: Nothing... for now.
- Bruno Mannheim: It's my experience that "nothing" can get very expensive.
- [last lines]
- Darkseid: Welcome to Apokolips, Mr. Mannheim.
- Bruno Mannheim: Who are you?
- Darkseid: Your new lord and master. You may call me... Darkseid.
- Bruno Mannheim: Do you know what having this gun means, Turpin?
- Dan Turpin: I can take it off your Christmas list?
- Bruno Mannheim: Useless! Worthless! A joke!
- Blaine: Ah! Careful, boss.
- Bruno Mannheim: I keep telling you guys, Intergang needs real armaments, weapons of mass destruction, and all I get are toys!
- [hearing a noise nearby]
- Bruno Mannheim: What was that?
- [seeing a figure nearby]
- Bruno Mannheim: Who are you?
- Kanto: My name is Kanto, Mr. Mannheim. I've been authorized to offer you some assistance.
- Bruno Mannheim: By whom? Start talking.
- Kanto: Please. Put away your so-called weapons. I can assure you they're quite unnecessary.
- [destroying them with his staff, then offering it to Mannheim]
- Kanto: I come bearing gifts.
- Kanto: Amazingly, you employed our weaponry quite well. My superior was pleased.
- Bruno Mannheim: Pleased enough to tell us who he is?
- Kanto: Pleased enough to give you this.
- [handing him a weapon]
- Kanto: It emits a concentrated energy beam capable of destroying even the most invulnerable of targets.
- Bruno Mannheim: Is that a fact?
- Bruno Mannheim: [shooting Superman through a tank with a weapon provided by Darkseid] Ooh, I think that hurt.
- [firing more bolts, hitting Superman with the last one]
- Bruno Mannheim: You know what's really amazing? I'm not even firing at full power.
- [increasing the power]
- Bruno Mannheim: Get ready to eat it, Superman.
- Bruno Mannheim: Where in god's name are we?
- Kanto: That depends. Which god are you talking about?
- Bruno Mannheim: Listen, buddy, I'm through with these games. I want some answers! You gonna tell me who you work for?
- Blaine: That's tempered steel. It's melting like cheap margarine.
- Bruno Mannheim: Okay, I'm impressed. But I still don't get it. Someone sent you here just to give us these things?
- Kanto: [putting on a pair of gauntlets] Including this. It's called the armature. When activated, it forms two hands of raw energy, hands which perfectly simulate the motions of the gloves.
- [demonstrating them]
- Kanto: The energy hands, of course, possess a greatly amplified strength.
- Bruno Mannheim: Okay, I want 'em.
