A soul searching crypt episode with country music superstar Travis Tritt!

"Doctor of Horror" overall ranks as a pretty good episode out of the 6th season, plus it was nice to see country music superstar Travis Tritt in a guest role! Travis Tritt and Hank Azaria star as two loser security guards who work the graveyard shift at a morgue of dead people. Only new things happen aboard the shift when an eager and evil doc(Austin Pendleton) starts a gory scheme in which he steals the souls from the dead! One by one when trying to scalp the souls, the bodies are disposed of by a well. Only shortly the journey enlists the two guards only the scheme backslides as the greed and need for money and power destroys all. Nice to see in the end a nice person like Travis get his revenge! Overall pretty good crypt episode nice to see a musician like Travis Tritt as a guest star it was well done.

    The doctor is in

Season six is, overall, underwhelming. But this is one of the better episodes. It finds two bumbling mortuary security guards getting mixed up with a mad doctor who is stealing bodies to search for their 'souls.' but when the doctor realizes that he soul can only be extracted from the living, one of the guards may be in way over their heads.

Hank Azaria does a fine job, as does Austin Pendleton as the mad doctor, but it's country musician Travis Tritt who walks away with the show as the kindhearted, dim-witted Charlie. Ben Stien also shows up a the boss who ends up firing the inept guards.

The episode is finely tongue-in-cheek, decent splatter and top-notch acting. It is one of the highlights of the entire series, if only for being surrounded by lackluster episodes.

    Excellently creepy!!!

This is one of the last truly great episodes of the series!!! What a great cast!!! Hanks Azaria, Travis Tritt, Ben Stein and Austin Pendleton all brilliantly ham it up here. Plus, there are gory and creepy moments that add to the brilliance of this episode as well. Excellent in all departments!!! Really good.
