Chrissy's High School Friend
...Darlene (Elaine Giftos) comes to Santa Monica for a visit. Unknown to everyone, she is a $100 a night call girl. Hmmm...this will create quite a bit of comedic chaos as the show rolls on. A very funny episode. The last full episode with Suzanne Somers.
No real spoilers here. Just a thought.
I wonder if any of the writers were fans of "I Dream of Jeannie"? Again a little nod to Jeannie as they used the name of a character you only see briefly as Mr. Swackhamer. E. W. Swackhamer directed 5 episodes of Jeannie...as well as 7 of Bewitched.
The beautiful Emmaline Henry, I Dream of Jeannie alumni, was almost a reoccurring character as Chrissy's boss. There were a few Jeannie nods that I've noticed in Three's Company.
Just a thought.

"It's a real hustle. HASSLE!"
Darlene (Elaine Giftos, "Angel") is a former high school chum of Chrissy's who stops by for a visit. She's beautiful & charming, and of course Jack goes gaga for her. He even invites her to accompany him on a trip to see his mother. So, it comes as a shock when Darlene is revealed to be a high-priced call girl.
Watching Jack & Janet react to this revelation is priceless. There is one great scene where Janet interrupts Jacks' phone call to his mother. And the sequence at the convention is comedy gold. There are some great lines and brilliant moments, and I've always found that name Swackhamer amusing.
Noteworthy as Suzanne Somers' final full episode, this sees Jack & Janet work overtime to preserve their roommates' innocence, and make sure that Chrissy remains ignorant of her old friends' actual occupation. Fortunately, this is a pretty good "send-off" of sorts as Chrissy does have some great moments herself.
Nine out of 10.

- TriviaThis was Suzanne Somers' final full episode. In subsequent episodes, her role was reduced to 60 seconds to phone in from Fresno to her former roommates in Santa Monica.
- GoofsDuring the call that Jack has with his mother and when Janet runs out of the kitchen to stop him on the phone..you can see the kitchen wall placement is flat with no sink or wall cabinet.
