    To ski is to live.

Jacks' latest girlfriend, Inga (Laurette Spang, 'Battlestar Galactica') is a big skiing enthusiast, so he pretends to be an avid skier to impress her (when, naturally, he can't ski at all). *Then* she invites Jack & company to her parents' lodge so she can watch him in action. And he tries every which way to try to avoid actually going down the mountain - including feigning an injury.

'Downhill Chaser' is a very funny episode, producing big laughs as Jack, Larry, & Furley all take turns doing absolutely shameless things. Janet tries her best to give Jack a quick early morning lesson, but of course he bumbles his way through it. When Furley puts on the leg cast, it backfires on him when he attracts the attention of the lodges' masseuse (Kate Murtagh, "Doctor Detroit"), who's eager to get it on with him.

This episode is indeed interesting in that it's a rare case of having not one scene in the apartment; the action either takes place at the Regal Beagle, inside the lodge, or at the top of the mountain.

The "tag" involves a priceless situation for Furley after a session with the masseuse. Overall, this is one of the funniest season five episodes, showing that the other main players *could* get by without Chrissy's presence.

    Eight out of 10.
