    Tiny Toons goes to Washington

Absolutely love Buster and Babs as characters, always have. Their comic timing is so witty and zany when the material is particularly great and they are very compelling and enormously fun characters, with chemistry that never fails to sparkle. So it is always great when a 'Tiny Toon Adventures' episode centres heavily around them and their irresistible chemistry. The premise is not unfamiliar territory, but is always enormous fun to watch.

"Washingtoon" sounded very interesting and clever, and luckily had even more interesting and clever execution. In one of the best late 'Tiny Toon Adventures' episodes and one of the best from Season 3. The setting is put to great use and everything that is so good about Buster and Babs as characters is present throughout. It is a premise that is not new and the execution doesn't always feel as fresh or original as ought (my one minor issue with the episode). But it is still a great one worthy of classic Looney Tunes and on paper sounded like 'Tiny Toon Adventures' would do it well. "Washington" does it extremely well and more.

Everything, or nearly everything, comes together here. The animation is vibrantly coloured and beautifully rich in detail, not just the backgrounds but also the expressions and reactions of the characters which are wonderfully loony. The music is dynamic and characterful as always and the theme song has always brought a smile to my face.

The writing is exceptional, being very smart and full of wit and endearing looney-ness, the whole script written by teenagers concept is a lot more intelligent than it sounds. The best lines are absolutely hilarious, and the referencing is nostalgic and don't feel thrown in or cheap. The story has a huge amount of energy with no signs of dragging, and is both hugely entertaining and affectionate.

Character writing doesn't disappoint either, both Buster and Babs are on top form. Particularly Babs. Tress MacNeille's voice work in particular is nothing short of virtuosic, both showing her typically breathtaking versatility.

    Overall, truly excellent. 9/10.

Buster Bunny: Excuse my ill-informed ignorance, but - who are you?

A.C.A.F.C Chairwoman: I represent the Adult Coalition Against Funny Cartoons.

      [hands them her card]

Buster Bunny: [trying to read it] 'Acafca?' 'Acaf-see?'

      Babs Bunny: No, it's 'As-af-a-cee,' 'Ack-a-sif-acee... '

A.C.A.F.C Chairwoman: My research shows Tiny Toon Adventures is nothing but a lot of silliness and nonsense.

      Babs Bunny: No kidding.

A.C.A.F.C Chairwoman: Cartoons are misleading! They distort reality.

      Buster Bunny: Yeah, so?

A.C.A.F.C Chairwoman: Ducks being torn into little pieces is an illustration of anti-social behavior!

Babs Bunny: It's only a gag!

A.C.A.F.C Chairwoman: It is not responsible viewing material, and must stop!

Plucky Duck: That's the first sensible thing I heard all day.

A.C.A.F.C Chairwoman: [giving him her card] We should talk.

      Plucky Duck: Hmm. 'Ac-afca.'
