Bad, but in a good way

This episode is terrible. The opening is one of the worst starts to an episode I've ever seen. Gwen is meant to pass a tool to Owen, but "accidently" manages to throw it at the Alien Debris and punctures it. The idea that Gwen feels guilt over unleashing the alien is clever, but the whole scene was ridiculous to look at, and frankly laughable. Most of the scenes in this episode are bad, but in some ways they're funny to laugh at. A lot of the inclusion of selected scenes in this episode only feel there, because they know they can get away with it, as it's 15 rated. The episode definitely has its own charm, but whether that's in a good way is certainly questionable.

It's pretty wild, but it's good.

A sex starved Alien is on the rampage, craving lust, Cardiff, 2006, was a bit wild.

I remember the shock when I first saw this one, just thinking oh my god, did they really just do that, but why not? It's fun, it's brash, Gwen Cooper certainly gets a wild first day on the job.

It's well acted, it looks nice, and has some decent special effects. You cannot help but wonder if there is an influence here of X Files episode Gender bender.

They get the chance to so the stories they'd never get away with in Dr Who, the first one involves a sex starved Alien, it's priceless. 7/10.

Russell T. Davies, the world of Doctor Who still misses you.

    Very good

It was a very good plot and the acting was very good and the storyline was also very good. Back when cherish chibnalls writing was actually acceptable.

The hand that Captain Jack Harkness is so fond of and keeps safe, is The Tenth Doctor's hand from The Christmas Invasion (2005). The Doctor had his hand cut off in a duel but immediately grew a replacement hand.
    • Goofs
At the start of the episode, when Gwen and Rhys are chasing after the meteorite as it flies across Cardiff, you see them running South along Saint Mary's Street. The next shot is of the meteorite flying North along The Friary, which is almost a mile away in the opposite direction.
