Dr. Meredith Grey: Thanks for coming. Both of you, thanks for coming. Here's the thing.
[to Finn]
Dr. Meredith Grey: I like you.
[to Derek]
Dr. Meredith Grey: And I like you. And I thought I had a choice to make I thought I had to decide. But I think I owe myself the chance to consider my options.
Dr. Finn Dandridge, Dr. Derek Shepherd: Options?
Dr. Meredith Grey: There's this thing that allows for the considering of options. In the olden days they called it dating.
Dr. Derek Shepherd: Dating?
Dr. Finn Dandridge: Both of us?
Dr. Meredith Grey: Yes. I understand if you're not up for it. But, I really hope you are.
[walks out]
Dr. Finn Dandridge: You bowing out?
Dr. Derek Shepherd: No, you?
Dr. Finn Dandridge: I don't think so.

Dr. Addison Shepherd: [opens her hotel room door and sees Derek] I thought you were room service.
Dr. Derek Shepherd: I feel terrible. I'm not proud of what I did. You deserve better. And I'm sorry about that. Sorry about the panties, and the prom. I'm sorry I did that.
[sits next to her on the bed]
Dr. Addison Shepherd: Yeah. I'm sorry you did that, too.
Dr. Derek Shepherd: Our marriage is over.
Dr. Addison Shepherd: Yeah, I guess it is.
Dr. Derek Shepherd: It's all my fault. God, this is incredibly sad. Incredibly sad.
[the bathroom door opens and Mark walks out as he puts a towel around his waist]
Dr. Mark Sloan: Oh. Well, this is awkward.
Dr. Derek Shepherd: [looks at Addison for a second, takes the glass of champagne from her and took a sip] Ahh, I feel much better now. Ahh.
[he walks out the room]

Dr. Meredith Grey: You're married. You're married and you said things to me.
Dr. Derek Shepherd: Yes. I said things to you.
Dr. Meredith Grey: Normally I would like the things you said to me. Normally I would even think the bulletin board thing was funny.
Dr. Derek Shepherd: Bulletin board? What are you talking about?
Dr. Meredith Grey: But you're married. Which makes none of this normal. It makes me a homewrecker and I hate the fact that I'm a homewrecker.
Dr. Derek Shepherd: Meredith, I'm not going to pressure you. Take all the time you need. But just so you have all the information, my home was wrecked way before you came into the picture. And I am just now done trying to rebuild it.
Dr. Meredith Grey: You're done?
Dr. Derek Shepherd: I'm done. Whatever you decide, I'm ending it with Addison today.
Dr. Meredith Grey: You have said this before.
Dr. Derek Shepherd: I know, but this time I mean it. I'm gonna come clean just as soon as I see her.
Dr. Meredith Grey: You are?
Dr. Derek Shepherd: I am.
