    Excellent

This episode left me completely in tears..it was a beautiful tale, heartbreaking, and yet it gives hope, hope for the future of humanity. The core of racism and prejudice is based in fear and ignorance, I knew that from experience when I was a child. The episode reminds us that there are many heroes who champion the cause of justice and truth for all, not for any major political gains, but for the simple, pure reasons of love and friendship. The characters in this episode display great courage, and yet there is the reminder of how much difficulty those who would stand up for the principles of equality and justice for all had to contend with. This, even at a time of so-called greater awareness and acceptance. It left me thinking, how far have we really come? will we ever, in truth, stand together with dignity and respect for each other? The truth remains to be seen. The music, as always, was outstanding, too! I really do love this show.

    Good Episode

It was a good episode. It shows that hate is learned, not ingrained. It would have been a good episode for streaming nowadays. "Critters", I'm guessing, was not what they would be really saying. It kinda whitewashes how bad it was, but then again, it was network TV. It does accurately depict "white flight" though.

    • Trivia
The flashback scene where a young Terrell Pierce tells his little sister about a boy named Emmett Till who "whistled at a white girl" and was dragged away and shot is unfortunately a true story. Emmett Till was a fourteen-year-old boy who, after flirting with a white woman in a grocery store, was dragged away by men in the night, beaten, mutilated and eventually drowned. This real crime occurred in 1955 and was a huge influence on the U.S. Civil Rights Movement.
