Funny comedy for what it is!
Another reviewer Jackpollins had the best description so I'll only say a few things for myself. I love adventure flicks & I love adventures in real life, so this is a nice treat! It's not as bad as the ratings perceive, at the same time it's not as good as most adventure comedies like The Hangover, Road Trip, Due Date, or Wild Hogs. With that being said "Wieners" is a great cheesy goofball movie & don't mind me, on some subjects I'm very quirky, anyway glad this came on Showtime I highly recommend giving it a chance.
There were no toppings?...
One question; what happened to the laughs? "Wieners", as a comedy, failed to deliver. From the looks of the cover, it looks like a fairly straight up comedy that resembles something of a mix between a Nation Lampoons and typical teenage comedy. And I do believe that the movie appeals to a younger audience, but still, what happened to the laughs?
For a movie with a name like "Wieners", you would assume there would be more sausages and jokes related to guy's private parts in it, but oddly enough there was almost none of either. The movie had potential to put up a lot of such moments, but just didn't do it.
This is basically just a dull version of a road-trip movie that didn't make it all the way to the goal.
The cast in "Wieners" were fairly good. The movie was carried by Kenan Thompson (playing Wyatt), and he was also the one that sported the most laughs, for some reason. He got help from Zachary Levi (playing Ben) and Fran Kranz (playing Joel). On the list are more interesting names such as Darrell Hammond (playing Dr. Dwayne), Mindy Sterling (playing Mrs. Applebaum) and a super great performance by Blake Clark (playing Mr. Applebaum).
I had expected to be laughing more throughout the movie, so I was disappointed when the movie ended, and I was left with a hot dog that sadly enough was missing mustard, ketchup and the works.

My Movie
Well I'm in it so it must be good...I was a small child but I knew that I had a future in acting. I am surprised I didn't get an Oscar nod to be honest.
Kenan Thompson ruins this
This might have been a goofy road trip movie but Kenan's overacting made every scene he's in intolerable. Everyone else is fine. Darrell Hammond is great spoofing TV therapists like Dr. Phil.
Worthless
Wyatt (Kenan Thompson) wants so badly to become a hot-dog-selling employee, gets the bright idea to take his two best friends, Ben (Zachary Levi of "Chuck" fame) and Joel (Fran Kranz, "Dollhouse") cross-country in a self-made hot-dog company promoting car to give away free wieners in order to promote the company that won't hire him. There's also the added benefit of kicking the crap out of a Dr. Phil-like talk show host (Darrell Hammond) who caused Joel to get dumped by his girlfriend when they reach their final destination. Along the way they meet multiple eccentric characters sadly, all of which are much more annoying than funny.
This is pretty much a low-rent "Road Trip" clone minus the laughs. It's one of those films where the 'jokes' arn't just devoid of laughs, but their 'punch-lines' can be seen coming from a mile away. To top it off none of the characters are particularly likable enough to care about their so-called 'madcap' adventures. The minutes seemed to stretch for hours, especially during the time that Jenny McCarthy's on the screen (it's just a glorified cameo, yet it felt endless)
Eye Candy: An extra briefly shows her tits at a strip-club & two others randomly walk by later in the film
My Grade: D-
