Beauty and the Bogbeast

Dungeon Master offers the adventurers a new way home. Naturally, it's a story in the form of a riddle - they must find a river that flows upside down.

I'm not sure you could make the case for this being a classic, but it's good, solid viewing. The humour is on point, and Eric brings his A-game. The focus, however, is on Sheila - she does a lot more than just shout at her noisy young brother.

I quite like the main villain here. It's definitely good to see someone other than Venger, and the change of pace keeps things feeling fresh. The Bogbeasts themselves are quite sweet - they look like villains but are actually really amiable, which gives the story a nice twist.

Dungeon Master plays a more active part this time; he's not just here for the intro and exit.

As always, it's an episode with heart, and a nice moral message. The ending is particularly touching, with the group choosing to go back for Eric instead of returning home - a reminder that their friendship means more than any reward.
