                      Star Crossed

This is my fourth favorite episode of the show, this episode is pretty much "D and D" doing John Carpenter's "Starman". Diana is the main protagonist in the episode, which is cool as she is my third favorite character in the show and on a side note I know that most fans have crushed on Shella but me it was always Diana as she was always energetic and aggressive.

But anyway, I really like the story as she and the rest of the D and D adventurers have to protect a lone prince from an evil demon, as he is the key to an enslaved city's salvation. Like the design of the demon where we see her half human and half demon. This sort of makes her almost like a Siren from Greek Myth but this is a different version as here we see her one human half is one that projects beauty but the other is an ugly demon. This shows how even the guise of beauty can never mask and hide the evil intentions and ugliness of a person's soul.

What really makes this episode is Diana and her chemistry with Cosair. You really buy into it, they just have a lot of sweet moments and words together. You can also say it's a little bit of the reverse in the damsel in distress motif as it's a prince in distress as we see Diana is the one fighting to protect her significant other. It blew me away a little as a kid, because at the time this motif was rarely broken.

From their chemistry it makes the ending even more bittersweet as it all comes down to a heartbreaking decision from both Diana and Consair which shows no matter how far one is they are never far from your heart.

In the words of Sarah Connor once said, "Despite the short amount of time together, we loved a lifetime's worth."

A fine end to the second series.

The kingdom of Turad is ruled by an evil, demonic Queen, and unless the kids can keep the Stargazer safe through 'star fall', another thousand-year reign of terror will begin. After a decade in the Queen's clutches, the Stargazer finds the heroic adventurers, and it falls on Diana to keep him safe.

After the epic highs of 'The Dragon's Graveyard', the second series concludes with another strong episode, and whilst it doesn't quite have the epic adventure vibe, it's an emotionally charged episode, one where we finally see Diana as the hero.

The animation is stunning, especially the icy palaces, which look great. The Queen is a wonderful character-half beautiful, half demon-bringing a fascinating dynamic to the story. She's such an intriguing contradiction. It's a welcome change from Venger, who's always around the corner it seems.

Diana shines in this episode, and it's about time. She's been a strong character throughout the series, but here, she takes centre stage in a way we haven't seen before, I love her dynamic with Cosair. The episode focuses on her emotional journey and the weight of responsibility she carries, making her the true hero. It's a subtle shift, but one that gives the episode real depth.

While 'Child of the Stargazer' may not have the same action-packed highs as 'The Dragon's Graveyard', it stands on its own as an emotionally resonant chapter. It's an excellent way to conclude the excellent second series.

                      8/10.
