Servant of Evil

It's Bobby's birthday, and the celebrations are in full swing - until he wanders off to rescue his present. Venger seizes the moment, imprisoning the group in the dreaded 'Prison of Agony.' With their friends trapped, the unlikely task of rescue falls to Bobby and Uni.

Dungeon Master, for once, offers more than cryptic riddles, providing some real help from the sidelines. The animation is superb - Venger's eerie fortress and the shadowy corridors are some of the series' best visuals. I couldn't help but hear the 'Carry On Spying' music here; it somehow fits the mood perfectly.

There's an extra edge of danger this time as the group must face their enemy without their weapons, forcing them to rely on courage and ingenuity rather than magic. Eric mistaking the monster for Dungeon Master is a brilliant touch of humour in an otherwise serious story.

Bobby comes through with surprising strength - not just loud and brash, but brave, loyal, and full of heart. Even Uni manages to be useful for once. Bobby continues to be the Grady Fletcher of the Realm - loveable, loyal, and never quite in sync with danger until it's already too late.
