Rightly considered one of the true classic stories in Doctor Who.

    Review of all 6 episodes:

One of the most famous and most loved stories in Doctor Who history, this really deserves the fame and praise it receives. It is a fabulous story with brilliance in every aspect of its production.

The Doctor, Sarah and Harry are intercepted by the Time Lords as they try to return to the Nerva space station via Transmat. The Time Lord who speaks to The Doctor gives him a mission to interfere with the creation of the Daleks as they are considered a threat to the Universe. He is told he can stop their creation or influence their nature for the better. They find themselves in the middle of a war on Skaro between the Thals and the Kaleds. The war has gone on for a very long time and scientist Davros has created the Daleks in order to bring the war to an end. Davros is power crazed and has evil intent for his Daleks to become all powerful creatures. There are adventures as The Doctor seeks to interfere with Davros' plans. Finally when he has the chance to destroy the Daleks, The Doctor has a moral dilemma as to whether to destroy the Dalek race is excusable due to their evil or if it makes him as bad as the Daleks with such a genocidal act.

The script, story and acting are top class throughout. Davros is an inspired creation, a villain of the finest quality and acted amazingly well by Michael Wisher. Baker is on top form and his scenes with Davros and their intellectual duelling is gripping. The scene with the dilemma of conscience for The Doctor trying to decide whether to destroy the Daleks is genius and the story as a whole is exceptionally well written.

One of the most exceptional stories in Doctor Who and therefore television history.

No mid story lull here, this is brilliant.

It s no wonder Genesis of the Daleks is adored by fans, when you watch and take notice of it, you realise how spot on this six part story truly is.

Part Three carries forward the quality of the first two episodes, with virtually every six part story there comes a lull towards the middle, not the case here, this episode is fast paced, thrilling, and incredibly enjoyable.

Some great acting from Lis Sladen, you see the terror in her face when she's at the top of the rocket, and subsequently dangled over the top, that's a really nasty moment, very well acted.

I hadn't particularly noticed, but almost everything on Skaro is a threat, The Kaleds, The Thaals, The Mutos, and of course The Daleks. The Doctor, Sarah and Harry having very little help, must battle against foes from all sides. It's fascinating the detail that goes into Davros's intention for his creatures, from this episode you get true belief that The Daleks would indeed become the dominant force.

Wisher and Miles superb once again. Another excellent cliffhanger, that's three so far, most episodes were lucky if they got one or two.

    Brilliance. 10/10

    Clamtastic...

Double crossing and scheming abound, the Dalek plan cannot be downed, via underground caves, to free all the Thal slaves and a shock in the rocket compound.

    • Trivia
This episode overran its 25 minute limit and rather than cut material out, the cliffhanger was changed from Davros' speech to the Doctor being electrocuted.
    • Goofs
When trying to escape, Sarah and the rest were climbing up a tower made of metal pipes or tubes. When Sarah slips, she falls distinctly away from the tower, but somehow lands on a board that was never seen on the way up and with her body positioned partly within the confines of the tower.
