    War of the Worlds...

Just give peace a chance, is all the Doctor asks, but the big cheese just can't stop, in victory he will bask, so they remove this impasse, let the Doctor go to travel, and the strings begin to fray and the plot starts to unravel.

    Another good build up episode

The TARDIS has gone, Princess Astra has gone, and K-9 faces destruction, by being melted down and recycled. The Marshall, Doctor and Romana look on at his battle station and watch as the majority of his fleet is destroyed, so he asks for the Doctor's help, but is the Marshall all he claims to be, and who is he talking to on the other side of that mirror?

Tom is once again playing for laughs, it's like an Audience with Tom Baker, Graham Williams's influence is extremely evident. Romana's been at the silly pills again, although Mary seems a lot happier in this serial then she was in Kroll.

John Woodvine excellent again, the shots of him in the mirror look wonderfully effective, and his inexplicable irrationality works well.

Part 2 feels pretty much like another build up episode, as it's a 6 parter we're not straight into the action, but it's pacey, there's lots happening, and there's lots of thought gone into the story, it's really good, 8/10
