    "Prison depresses me."

A very faithful adaptation of the Amazing Spider-Man # 65 story "The Impossible Escape", this closing episode to the second season is an appreciable "back to basics" type story. There's no utterly fantastic elements or outlandish creatures, just a good, fairly reality-based outing for Spidey.

Incapacitated while chasing some bank robbers (they threw some sort of bomb called a "Vibrator" (!!!!) at him), Spidey falls all the way to the street. (And incredibly, only suffers a wounded shoulder.). Captain Stacy (voice of Len Carlson) urges calm & reason, ensuring the agitated onlookers that there will be a time & place to unmask the web head. (These onlookers are a truly annoying bunch.)

Meanwhile, Spidey is carted off by ambulance to a prison infirmary. Then five convicts attempt a breakout, using Stacy as a hostage. Spidey pretends to throw in with them while stalking them and incapacitating *them* one or two at a time.

This episode is lots of fun, and it's nice to see the web-slinger in a more grounded type of tale. There's some decent suspense to enjoy, although the music is not as atmospheric, since the episode utilizes a lot of score from the first season in addition to borrowing from the KPM library.

Overall, this is a solid closer to the second season.

    Nine out of 10.
