      The return of the Kingpin.

'Sky Harbor'. Spider-Mans' latest foe is a Nazi pilot named Baron von Rantenraven (seriously) who wishes to claim the skies for his people. As the episode opens, he & his fellow pilots (who operate out of a flying city) incapacitate an airliner and take the passengers & crew hostage. This is not one of Spideys' best outings, but it is good for a reasonable amount of laughs; the most memorable moment involves Spidey playing a visual trick on the bad guy.

'The Big Brainwasher'. Based on the Amazing Spider-Man # 59 story 'The Brand of the Brainwasher', this segment sees the enormous crime figure the Kingpin (voice of series regular Tom Harvey) using a trick camera and a special chair to brainwash various high-ranking city officials. It's nice to see this particular Spidey nemesis make an encore series appearance, and Peters' gal pal Mary Jane appears for the first time here. (Although the character is unfortunately portrayed as something of an airhead.). Good fun in the classic Spidey tradition, with a particularly amusing character named Winkler, a minuscule creep with a huge schnoz who devised that camera & chair for his mobster boss. Spidey knocks the guy out twice!

All in all, decent fun for Spidey lovers needing their web-head fix.

      Seven out of 10.
