    the greatest episode

well, although i just saw this episode last night, i think this is the greatest episode i've ever seen.. we can read stories about reaper in every part in our world. and.. this episode makes me cry.. "the time of dead is 10.41 am." that is the words that makes me cry. but, i'm still confused about the story line. who is the girl? is she a real human or she is the reaper? or she is just an angel? i dunno who is she.. but will somebody in this forum tell me about that girl, and tell me about the man in the boiler room beside Sam and dean's dad? and what did he do in the boiler room? and, what creature that come in from the air ventilation that comes in black shadows?

    Death makes great entertainment

An awesome episode. I enjoyed every moment of it, and really loved the insightful glimpses we get in all the characters, especially Dean. We get to see him be his usual macho self with some added loathing to boot. I kind of expected something to happen to the other however. They really set it up that way. The thing that bothered me the most is that whenever one of the Winchesters gets healed it is an instantaneous thing. I would find this unbelievable show a bit more believable if the characters weren't always almost dying and then all of the sudden, they are in perfect health. My one qualm but on the whole this was an awesome episode for an awesome show.

Supernatural " In My Time Of Dying"

I was interested in this show since it began but never started watching it until just recently, I find that this episode is by far the best. The episode "In My Time Of Dying", manages to keep the viewer's interest until the cliffhanger at the very end. It is impossible not to get attached to this cast of very attractive men. Their characters are down-to-earth and easily relatable (considering that they deal with the supernatural). You can't help but be upset, angry, afraid and happy when they are. Amazing and freaky show. Excellent. I will continue watching it, anticipating every week.

One of the best directed episodes gets season 2 started right

This episode is a class on how to do more with less at creating atmospherics. The use of long takes and the way Dean disappears during them utterly works to capture the tone of Dean being caught in between states. Tessa's entire story is captured in how light and shadow is used to shift our feelings about her. Innocent one moment, ominous the next. Couple that with a few gorgeous shots-i.e. coffee cup-and this is one of the best directed episodes of the entire season.

The script does an economical job of setting up the central dynamics of the season 2-i.e. Dean's guilt, what is wrong with Sam-while telling a compelling critical chapter in the Winchester story. This is a solid opening to the season.

    • Trivia
"Dr. Kripke", the doctor who attends one of the Winchesters on an emergency at the hospital, is a reference to executive producer and sometimes writer Eric Kripke. He is also called to room 237 for a code blue. Room 237 is significant in "The Shining" (1980)
    • Goofs
When the doctor is talking to Sam about his brother's condition at the start, as the camera turns to Dean's body, where he is meant to be in a coma, you can see Jensen closing his eyes from where he was watching.
    • Quotes

Sam Winchester: [to John] You know, you care more about killing this demon than you do saving your own son!

Dean Winchester: [as a spirit, unseen and unheard] No no no, guys, don't do this!

John Winchester: [to Sam] Do NOT tell me how I feel. I am doing this for Dean.

Sam Winchester: HOW? How is revenge gonna help him? You're not thinking about anybody but yourself, it's the same selfish obsession!

Dean Winchester: Come on guys, don't do this!

John Winchester: That's funny. You know, I thought this was your obsession too! This demon killed your mother, killed your girlfriend! You BEGGED me to be a part of this hunt! Now if you'd killed that damn thing when you had the chance, none of this would've happened!

Sam Winchester: It was possessing you, Dad! I would've killed you too!

John Winchester: Yeah, and your brother would be awake right now!

Dean Winchester: Shut up! Both of you!

      Sam Winchester: Go to hell.

John Winchester: You know what? I should've never taken you along in the first place. I knew it was a mistake!

Dean Winchester: I said SHUT UP!

[Dean lashes out, knocking a glass of water onto the floor where it shatters. John and Sam look to where Dean is standing, unseen by either of them]

Dean Winchester: Dude, I full-on Swayze'd that mother.
