Florida's 'Peyton Place'
The opening segment here is a take on the thriller movie, "When A Stranger Calls," where a baby-sitter gets terrorized by someone who is phoning from inside the house. Well, the teen is victim of a prank by the stupid kid she's babysitting.....but it's no joke when she answers the door and her father falls inside, bloody and dead!
This episode winds up to be a real soaper, a "Peyton Place" where everyone is sleeping with everyone.....a very friendly neighborhood, you could say. It's gets a little too much, to be honest. It turns out real sleazy.
The ending also is a bit sappy, with the typical corny song and melodramatics that they love to do on this show. Does anyone else laugh sarcastically at these ending songs, which appear designed to make, maybe, a 13-year-old girl, get emotional but are really stupid for adults?

like this whole show
The writers cook the story and evidence to lead the audience to the conclusion ...the convincing evidence is usually some insignificant piece of nothing that closes the case...everything from the death makeups to the wooden expressions on the actors faces makes you want to wonder why you watch such drivel and then there is red and his sunglasses and all the phony aerial photos from miami florida and long beach california blended with the story ... you always see the hummers driving on the causeway to or from miami beach and the lame ocean front shots ... anyone that's ever been on collins ave in miami beach knows how phony this show is ... what is amazing is that viewers don't care

- TriviaAt multiple points, the CSI team interviews Heather and Zach alone. As minors, they would not do this without a parent or advocate present. Any evidence or confession obtained from these interviews would be inadmissible in court.
- GoofsJust after the teaser, Frank Tripp follows a blood trail around to the back of the house. There is a camera cut that reveals a body, laying in plain sight, with it's feet on some steps leading down to a pool area. Before the camera cut however, the steps are visible, but there is no body.
