    A brilliant flashback!

After three episodes the first flashback appears and it is a great one! The importance of Luffy's hat is presented to us as we dive into his origin story with Shanks and his pirate crew. We also get to see him eating the devils fruit which gave him his powers. Then Shanks fights some bandits to rescue Luffy. He sacrifices his arm for that cause and gifts him his straw hat. He may return it after he became the greatest pirate of the world.

Altogether a beautiful episode that enriches Luffy's character and the story. This is how you make a great flashback that isn't filler or boring. Hopefully there is more of that!

    Luffy and the hat!

Yeah I was very surprised how well that flashback worked in this episode! It made sense and came at natural time and didn't kill the momentum or vibe! We see how Luffy's determination deffined him as much in his childhood as it does now!

Its obvious how Shanks was an important figure for him and that he played a role in shaping Luffy's character! The scene in the ocean really took me by surprise! I did not expect that, and it shows that this show can handle sad moments as well as goofy and actionpacked moments!

Luffy getting the hat feels like one of those moments that I will always remember!

The ending makes you excited to keep watching!

Overall I am very glad i started watching this show!
