Leapin' Lizards

Dealing with cults sometimes doesn't work that well. You have one of two things. First of all, it could be a phony spiritual or social leader. Or secondly, you have group of people willing to sell their souls for that leader and, generally, they don't speak rationally, or they have hit the skids so badly they lose themselves. Here are the reptile people who believe that earth is overrun by people who are actually reptiles. Of course, below the surface there are those who have the same desires as the rest of the human race. Only they are power crazed. This is fine, but the story never got me caught up.

Early on, Grissom and Warrick search a bad guy's dark creepy hunting trophy location. With minimal lighting, guns and flashlights drawn, Warrick never takes off his shades.

Anyone with sense would not go down a dark, structurally questionable staircase without at least one hand on the railing while sporting sunglasses.

Smart thing: Remove shades, flashlight in mouth, gun in one hand, railing in the other, proceed.

I regard it as an homage to Shaft.

When the police arrive at the ranch of Hank Connors, he resists shooting from the windows first and then he commits suicide when the SWAT invade the house. The CSI team arrives to investigate the disappearance of Chyna DeVere and her husband Preston. Warrick notes that Hank's hobby was taxidermy and soon Grissom finds the head of Chyna mounted on the wall. Grissom also finds books about aliens, UFOs and the reptilian conspiracy. When Brass interviews Hank's friend Shannon Turner, he realizes that he is dealing with a group of crazy people.

"Leapin' Lizards" is a weird episode of "CSI", with a strange story of ufologists. The good point is Aly Sheed as a guest star in this episode. However, it is one of the weakest episodes of the series. My vote is six.
