23-year-old Lennart from Fellingsbro, sings like a god and lives for dance band music. He heads to Stockholm to take a job as a dance band singer. But there is only one problem, Sweden is not ready for a black dance band singer and he does not get the job. Instead, he rents to former hip-hop star Roshan, who is desperately trying to shake up his career and who despises dance band music. Lennart does not give up on his dreams and through an audition in the meeting room in Rågsved he gathers a colorful crowd of musicians around him. Sweden's first flat dance band has seen the light of day - Lennartz.

The dance band Lennartz has started rehearsing, but it is difficult to achieve a good dance band sound when none of them are musicians. Lennart realizes that the hip-hopper Roshan must help them as a consultant. However, he would rather join his cool pals to pursue a new career. Soon it's time for the band's first gig and Lennart promises the band money and fame, or as many shrimp as they can eat.

Despite all the setbacks, Lennartz decides to bet for real and soon they succeed in becoming the hottest dance band on the internet. A well-paid gig in Hammarby sjöstad will be the starting point of their magnificent career, but say the happiness that lasts forever. The crisis in Lennartz can now only be saved by the strong bonds of friendship and finally Lennart gets the chance to show the audience what real dance band music can sound like and how to wring your heart out like a wettex cloth.
