The Doctor
- Martha Jones: Do you reckon it's gonna work, those two?
- The Doctor: I don't know. Anywhere else in the universe I might worry about them, but New York- it's what this city's good at. Give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses and maybe the odd pig-slave-Dalek-mutant-hybrid, too.
- Martha Jones: [laughs] The pig and the showgirl.
- Tallulah: [fretting over Lazlo who is about to die] Doctor, can't you do somethin'
- The Doctor: Oh Tallulah with three l's and an h... just you watch me
- The Doctor: [jumps up, takes off his coat and starts trashing around] What do I need, oh I dunno. How about a great big genetic laboratory. Oh, look I've got one. Lazlo, just you hold on! There's been too many deaths today, way too many people have died. Brand new creatures, wise old men and age old enemies. And I'm telling you, I'm telling you right now. I am NOT having ONE more dead. You got that? NO ONE!
- Dalek Thay: The Doctor will stand before the Daleks!
- [the Doctor stands]
- Dalek Thay: You will die, Doctor. At the beginning of a new age.
- Dalek Jast: Planet Earth will become New Skaro.
- The Doctor: Oh, and what a world! With anything just the slightest bit different ground into the dirt. That's Dalek Sec; don't you remember? The cleverest Dalek ever, and look what you've done to him. Is that your new Empire? Hmmm? Is this the foundation for a whole new civilisation?
- Dalek Sec: My Daleks, just understand this; if you choose death and destruction, then death and destruction will choose you.
- Dalek Thay: Incorrect! We always survive!
- Dalek Jast: Now we will destroy our greatest enemy - the Doctor!
- Dalek Sec: But he can help you!
- Dalek Thay: The Doctor must die!
- Dalek Sec: No! I beg you, don't...
- Dalek Thay: Exterminate!
- [Thay fires at the Doctor, but Sec gets in the way and dies instead]
- The Doctor: Your own leader! The only creature who might have led you out of the darkness, and you destroyed him!
- The Doctor: Daleks are bad enough at any time, but right now they're vulnerable. And that makes them more dangerous than ever.
- The Doctor: [Caan killed Solomon in front of all of Hooverville] Daleks! All right, so it's MY turn! Then kill me! Kill me if it'll stop you attacking these people!
- Dalek Caan: I will be the destroyer of our greatest enemy!
- The Doctor: Then do it! Just do it! DO IT!
- [last lines]
- Martha Jones: Meant to say... sorry.
- The Doctor: What for?
- Martha Jones: Just 'cause that Dalek got away. I know what that means to you.
- [the Doctor unlocks the TARDIS]
- Martha Jones: Think you'll ever see it again?
- The Doctor: Oh, yes.
- [as Martha steps inside the TARDIS, the Doctor pauses for a moment at the door]
- The Doctor: One day.
- [the Doctor steps inside the TARDIS and closes the door]
- [the Doctor and Dalek Caan stand face-to-face in the Dalek laboratory]
- The Doctor: Now what?
- Dalek Caan: You will be exterminated!
- The Doctor: Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Just think about it, Dalek... What was your name?
- Dalek Caan: Dalek Caan.
- The Doctor: [approaches Dalek Caan] Dalek Caan. Your entire species has been wiped out. And now the Cult of Skaro has been eradicated. Leaving only you. Right now, you're facing the only man in the universe who might show you some compassion. 'Cause I've just seen one genocide. I won't cause another. Caan...
- [Dalek Caan shifts his eyestalk at the Doctor]
- The Doctor: let me help you. What do you say?
- Dalek Caan: Emergency Temporal Shift!
- [Dalek Caan vanishes, just as the Doctor lunges too late at him. The Doctor grunts in anger]
- The Doctor: [hears an alarm sounding] What's that?
- Dalek Sec: What's happening? Is there a malfunction?
- [Daleks Caan, Thay and Jast ignore Sec]
- Dalek Sec: Answer me!
- The Doctor: Oh, no, no, no. The gene feed! They're overriding the gene feed!
- [the Doctor rushes over to the controls to fix it]
- Dalek Sec: Impossible! They cannot disobey orders.
- Dalek Jast: The Doctor will step away from the controls!
- [the Doctor backs away as Caan, Jast and Thay approach him and Sec with their weapons aimed]
- Dalek Sec: Stop! You will not fire.
- Dalek Caan: He is an enemy of the Daleks.
- Dalek Jast: And so are you!
- [Jast aims his gun stick at Sec]
- Dalek Sec: I am your commander. I am Dalek Sec.
- Dalek Thay: You have lost your authority.
- Dalek Caan: You are no longer a Dalek.
- The Doctor: What have you done? What's going into the gene feed?
- Dalek Caan: The new bodies will be 100% Dalek.
- Dalek Sec: No! You can't do this!
- Dalek Thay: [to Pig Slaves] Pig Slaves, restrain Dalek Sec and the Doctor.
- [Two Pig Slaves grab Dalek Sec and Laszlo grabs the Doctor]
- Dalek Sec: Release me. I created you. I am your master.
- [another alarm sounds]
- Dalek Jast: Solar flare approaching.
- Dalek Thay: Prepare to intercept.
- [as the Daleks turn toward the machinery, the lift bell pings]
- Laszlo: There's the lift.
- The Doctor: After you.
- [the Doctor and Laszlo push their way through the Pig Slaves and head for the lift]
- Dalek Jast: The Doctor is escaping! Stop him! Stop him!
- [the Pig Slaves ran toward the lift, but the doors close as it rises]
- The Doctor: We've only got minutes before the gamma radiation reaches the Earth. We need to get to the top of the building.
- [the Doctor notices Laszlo leaning against the side of the lift and panting heavily]
- The Doctor: Laszlo, what's wrong?
- Laszlo: Out of breath. It's nothing. We've escaped them, Doctor. That's all that matters.
