Cold Case did several fine episodes featuring LGBTQ themes- really ahead of it's time- It's Raining Men (loved the ending of that one), Daniela, and the one about the young baseball player -the title I have forgotten- but not the episode.
Cold Case did amazing episodes on racism as well- always moving. The show tackled so many things that we should stucy today- if you cannot find the series on repeat on cable, check out Amazon and see if you can buy it- well worth it.
No matter how many times I watch it ( the series repeats on Start TV) I love it more.
The two main actors who play "Coop" and "Jimmy" are excellent and one wishes their characters could have a happy ending, but of course that's not the case. Their love was doomed from the start and that's the tragic and heartbreaking part. Although "Coop" has some rough edges, he's the type of (real) man I could fall for. As Jimmy states, "Coop was fearless." When you have the love of a man like that, you're really loved. Everything else is secondary.
I don't know if this episode received any Emmy awards for its exceptional acting and writing, but if not it should have. It stands out and is one of the best of the series, if not the best.
THEIR MAIN CHARACTERS WERE SO RUGGED AND MANLY, YET ALSO EMOTIONALLY VULBERABLE. EACH OF THEM WERE EQUALLY HANDSOME, GORGEOUS, COMPLEMENTE, AND MIRRORED EACH OTHER BRILLIANTLY. THEIR ACTING SUPERB, AS YOU CAN FEEL THEIR EMOTIONS.
JUST LIKE THE BIG THEATRICAL ACADEMY MOVIE WITH THE SIMILAR STAR-CROSSED LOVERS THEME, I WAS HOPING FOR AN ALTERNATE, HAPPIER FAIRYTALE, INSTEAD OF THE TYPICAL TRAGIQUE ENDING. THIS WAS THE BESTEST AND WAS DEF AN EMMY WORTHY EPISODE, INCLUDING THE WHOLE COLD CASE SERIES.

- Quotes
Sean 'Coop' Cooper: I'll pick you up some beer and meet you after.
Jimmy Bruno: I can't make it tonight.
Sean 'Coop' Cooper: Why not?
Jimmy Bruno: Maybe it's time for a change.
Sean 'Coop' Cooper: What kind of change?
Jimmy Bruno: I wasn't thinking right when we talked. But I haven't been right for a long time.
Sean 'Coop' Cooper: What's going on Jimmy?
Jimmy Bruno: I'm not going to be making it over to your place no more. Just get a new partner.
Sean 'Coop' Cooper: You afraid?
Jimmy Bruno: It's got nothing to do with that.
Sean 'Coop' Cooper: I'm afraid too.
Jimmy Bruno: Look, I gotta get going.
[turns away]
Sean 'Coop' Cooper: Jimmy, don't go, please.
[sighing]
Sean 'Coop' Cooper: We're the lucky ones, remember?
Jimmy Bruno: I think you got it wrong there. I ain't a queer.
