Review by ConfusedRoulette

Kamarottu Checkpost

5/10

An unconvincing, tedious horror film!

This movie claims to be the 1st Indian film based on paranormal activity and also the 1st Indian film using animated chameleon as a character. These 2 facts are used as a bait for the audience to watch this film. However they don't work out at all. The paranormal activity shown in the movie is just like the other run-of-the-mill horror flicks and secondly the chameleon character is not used in any parts to spook you, making one wonder why was this creature made in the first place!

A group of friends land up at one of their friend's house in a place called Kamarottu to suprise him. But when they reach his house, they can't find him and decide to spend the night in his house. What happens when strange things start to occur there? The plot unfolds in a rather dull manner.

Although the story is quite interesting, it fails to impress the viewer due to the lengthy and slow screenplay. Except in some places, the horror elements also fail to workout. The music, cinematography & acting is just average. Some of the scenes involving Gadappa's jokes are quite amusing, however they too don't work out much. A more crisper editing could have made the film more gripping. Alas this film turns out to be an unconvincing, tedious watch.
