Unpretentious and nice visual atmosphere
This does not at all deserve the contempt that we see pouring out here. Of course regarding the dramaturgy it is neither Shakespeare nor Game of Thrones, but its naive aspect is extremely appreciable and despite a few round corners on the CGI work, the direction of photography is very beautiful. It's a very good little unpretentious series which can be watched without boredom, and which has the great merit of painting a twilight Rome, obviously partly imaginary and which has its charm despite the feeling of the green screens (this even contributes to this same charm). You have to maintain your child's perspective to appreciate this series for what it is: a beautiful atmosphere of Antiquity.
